Wheels For All Doncaster

Cycling Projects and the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority are pleased to announce the launch of Wheels for All Doncaster, in partnership with Doncaster Culture Leisure Trust.

Wheels for All is an Inclusive Cycling programme that embraces all children and adults with disabilities and differing needs to engage with quality cycling activity, using adapted cycles such as handcycles, trikes and wheelchair transporter to assist in building confidence and independence in cycling.

The site is located at the rear of Doncaster Dome and is a modern cycling area that includes a high-quality cycle circuit designed to provide recreational and competitive routes as well as the chance for the whole family to cycle together without being on the road.

The 1km-long, 6m-wide circuit has been made possible thanks to the Places to Ride fund and will be part of the lasting legacy the UCI 2019 Road World Championships brought to the UK. The event took place in Yorkshire in September 2019 and the Women’s Junior Road Race and Men’s U23 Road Race started from Doncaster Dome on Friday 27 September 2019.

The cycling circuit benefits:
• Is closed from traffic to create a safe environment for cyclists
• Is ideal for beginners right through to elite racers
• Has its own café serving hot drinks and snacks
• Cements Doncaster as a cycling hub
• Encourages more people to get into the sport, get active and have a healthier lifestyle

Session information:
• 50-minute sessions take place on a Wednesday between 10.00am - 1.00 pm.
• £5 per participant, including helmet hire (Support workers/carers go free).
