Seashell

Please note: Seashell operates Wheels for All’s ‘Bike Buddy’ programme

The Bradbury Cycling Centre is a fully inclusive cycling facility where children and adults of all abilities can safely learn to ride their bike, exercise and be active.

The Learn to Ride Track, designed by Playscheme, is a safe space for young riders of all abilities to enjoy the opportunity to develop their riding skills and in turn, their confidence and well-being. This zone for disability cycling helps children to learn an important skill and have fun while doing so.

The Learn to Ride Track is a great cycling facility for disabled children and their families. The track offers a combination of different surfaces and pathways for riders to navigate, along with replica road signs and markings to follow. A shelter with seating and workstations overlooks the track – a perfect place for users to stop and take a break, or for families to sit and observe the action!

Outdoor lighting has also been installed, making this a disability cycling area that can be used safely all year round.

For a more challenging ride, new Off-Road trails offer an exhilarating experience in a beautiful and inspiring environment. With a choice of green, blue or red trails, there’s something for all abilities.

Types of inclusive cycling routes

Green route – easy – suitable for beginners or novice cyclists. Most bikes are suitable for use here, including adapted cycles, tricycles and wheelchairs.

Blue route – moderate – suitable for intermediate cyclists with basic off-road riding skills and mountain bikes.

Red route – difficult – for proficient mountain bikers with good off-road riding skills and better-quality mountain bikes.

Seashell have a large fleet of adapted bikes, trikes, wheelchair-accessible and recumbent cycles for hire at their cycling for disabled children environment. Additionally, these can be used during one an inclusive cycling sessions.

An inclusive cycling zone for all

Though the Bradbury Cycling Centre is a part of the facilities used to teach children with SEND new cycling skills, this is by no means an exclusive space. A key aspect of Seashell’s ethos is inclusivity. As a result, this outlook is also reflected in the cycling facilities, as they are intended for anyone looking to improve their cycling ability.

Whether you would like to use the space to get toddlers involved in cycling, or organise a party, the Bradbury Cycling Centre is for everybody. No matter your ability or age, you are welcome at Seashell.
