Fundraising Volunteer
What does a fundraising volunteer do?
Fundraising volunteers help power the work we do by raising the vital funds that keep our services running. You might support community events, chat with supporters, help organise campaigns, or lend a hand behind the scenes with admin and outreach. Every conversation, idea, and activity you contribute helps us reach more people and make a bigger difference.
Why become an fundraising volunteer?
Becoming a fundraising volunteer is a rewarding way to give back, meet new people, and see the direct impact of your time and energy. You’ll be part of a friendly, supportive team working towards a shared goal, while gaining confidence, new skills, and experience. Most importantly, you’ll know you’re helping change lives through cycling.
What can I get involved with in this role?
There’s plenty of variety, so you can get involved in ways that suit your interests and availability. From helping at community fairs and charity collections to supporting online campaigns, sharing ideas, preparing materials, or spreading the word in your local network, no two days are the same. Whether you enjoy meeting people or prefer helping behind the scenes, there’s a place for you.
What makes a great fundraising volunteer?
You don’t need fundraising experience — just enthusiasm and a willingness to get stuck in. Great volunteers are friendly, reliable, and enjoy connecting with others. Being organised, positive, and open to working as part of a team goes a long way. If you care about making a difference to people’s lives and want to help, you already have what it takes.
Do I require any training for this role?
We’ll provide a full induction along with any training and guidance you need to feel confident and supported. From fundraising tips to event support and communication skills, we’ll help you every step of the way so you can focus on making a difference.
