Event Volunteer

What do event volunteers do?

Event volunteers help us attend local and national events, supporting us to set up our Wheels for All stand, talk to the public promoting our opportunities to participate/volunteer at our local hubs. Depending on the event, event volunteers will help run small ‘come and try’ sessions on some of our cycles.

Why become an event volunteer?

Join us as an event volunteer and become part of something truly uplifting! Event volunteers are crucial to helping us to inspiring others to get involved through sharing your stories and experiences of supporting participants at sessions. Without your stories and experiences bringing to life what is like to attend our sessions as a participant or support them as a volunteer we would not be able to grow our amazing community of riders and volunteers.

What can I get involved with in this role?

You can get involved with:

  • Talk to people at the event about Wheels for All’s programmes and activity
  • Promote our local participant and volunteer opportunities
  • Help facilitate ‘come and try’ sessions on a small fleet of adapted cycles

What makes a great event volunteer?

A great event volunteer brings a mix of enthusiasm, proactivity, and teamwork to our event attendances. They communicate clearly, listen well, and help create a warm, welcoming atmosphere where People feel comfortable to approach and talk to us. They’re also proactive problem-solvers, especially when running come and try sessions with some cycles, things can become busy very quickly, staff and volunteers require to think on their feet to ensure all roles are covered so that we talk to interested people plus the come and try side of things runs smoothly and safely. Ultimately, event volunteers bring good energy and a genuine desire to make each interaction with Wheels for All positive and memorable one.

Do I require any training for this role?
