Congratulations Jean!

Wheels for All is delighted to celebrate our wonderful volunteer Jean, who has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Active Hyndburn Awards, recognising her dedication and the lasting difference she has made through volunteering.

Jean’s award is a fantastic recognition of her commitment to supporting others and helping make inclusive cycling accessible to more people. Volunteers like Jean are at the heart of Wheels for All, helping to create welcoming environments where disabled people and those with long-term health conditions can enjoy the freedom, fun and benefits of cycling.

Rhys Phillips, National Volunteer and Insight Manager at Wheels for All, said:

“We’re absolutely delighted to see Jean receive this recognition. Our volunteers make such a huge difference to Wheels for All, and Jean is a wonderful example of the dedication and commitment that helps make our Hubs so special. This award is thoroughly deserved, and we’re incredibly proud of everything she has contributed to her local community.”

Jean’s achievement comes during a busy awards season for Wheels for All, with the charity also receiving recognition at two other ceremonies. We were shortlisted for Diversity Champion at the BikeBiz Awards, while our National Logistics and Mechanics Manager, Rob, was nominated for Mechanic of the Year. We were also nominated for the Accessible Sport for All Award at the Variety Disability Sports Awards.

Although we didn’t take home an award at either ceremony, we’re proud to have been recognised alongside so many fantastic organisations working to make a difference.

Congratulations to Jean on this thoroughly deserved achievement, and thank you to all our volunteers, whose time, passion and dedication help us bring inclusive cycling to communities across the country.
