Remote Volunteer

National

“I started my volunteer journey in Marbury Park helping to run the inclusive cycling sessions but when my job changed, I could no longer be there in person but still wanted to contribute, helping remotely allows me to carry on this work. It’s really flexible so I can work when I have some spare time free and there is no pressure at all. The team are really supportive and you’ll pickup new skills as well.“

What do remote volunteers do?

A remote volunteer using their time remotely to support Wheels for All with a designated project to help contribute to our key development areas.

Why become a remote volunteer?

You can play an integral part in the growth of Wheels for All from the comfort of your own home. There is a wide range of projects that you could support us with that fit around your other commitments. You can use the skills you already have to help us further key projects that will help us move forward as a charity.

“Having seen the enjoyment of the participants first hand & the way Wheels for All really makes a difference to people’s lives I recognise how important this work is. Hearing back that the work I’ve done has brought more people access to cycling or helped to bring more volunteers into the organisation is so rewarding and I would recommend it to anyone.”

What can I get involved with in this role?

You can get involved with:

  • Marketing support on social media and other media,
  • Collecting, collating, and inputting data
  • Researching information or writing articles
  • Offering specialist skills through area of expertise
  • Supporting fundraising efforts and grant applications
  • Highlighting volunteer recruitment opportunities

“This is a great opportunity to contribute to a worthwhile cause and really make a difference. A recent project I’ve been involved in has highlighted that there are areas in the country where not everyone has easy access to inclusive cycling. Ultimately the more volunteers we have, the more people will have access to cycling & as the name suggests Wheels for All!”

What makes a great remote volunteer?

A great remote volunteer for Wheels for All is someone who brings heart, energy, and connection to every task. You’ll be passionate about making cycling accessible to everyone, using your time and skills to contribute to key projects all having an impact on helping us deliver inclusive cycling sessions. Whether you’re helping with admin, fundraising, social media, or outreach from your home, you know the impact you are having is far wider reaching allowing us together to make a difference in people’s lives throughout the country.

Do I require any training for this role?

Whilst there is no general training associated with being a remote volunteer, there may be some project specific training or orientation required to help you get started.
