Rhys, our National Volunteer Manager, did not one but TWO radio interviews about The Big Help Out and the volunteering opportunities we have at Wheels for All.
“Following the King’s coronation, on the bank holiday Monday, people came out in force to continue marking the coronation, through lending a hand to volunteering as part of The Big Help Out!
We have been overwhelmed with the number of people who have reached out to us through The Big Help Out in recent weeks, wanting to get involved as a volunteer, and we are very grateful for you choosing us. I was delighted and incredibly grateful to be invited onto both BBC Radio Sheffield and BBC Radio Merseyside to talk all things Wheels for All and our involvement with the Big Help Out.
This was a fantastic opportunity to let everyone tuning in know who Wheels for All are, the importance of our volunteers, and what great things we could do with more volunteers!
We also wanted to showcase all the different roles where new volunteers could help us and signpost people to our volunteer opportunities. And, importantly, it was another great chance to be able to say a huge thank you to all our amazing Wheels for All volunteers for their continued passion and support. We can’t do any of this without them.
Personally, it was brilliant to see all the media coverage that day of people getting stuck in with a whole range of volunteering opportunities in their local areas. I hope every one of the 6 million people (!!!) who got involved to support a local cause enjoyed their day with The Big Help Out on Monday 8th May!”
Listen to Rhys on Radio Merseyside, 1hr22m into the Helen Jones Show, and Radio Sheffield, 2hrs19m into the Howard Pressman Show.
