Wheels for All - Kendal Raffle

Posted:

Well done to Wheels for All Kendal on organising a fantastic raffle with their local cycling club, Kendal Cycle Club (KCC). Using the money raised (a superb £1690) they have been able to purchase a new Tomcat Dragon with footplates, which they will be decorating with lots of KCC stickers!

Chris Fisher, Coordinator of Wheels for All Kendal, is a long-standing member of the cycling club and has worked hard to create and maintain strong bonds between the club and Wheels for All.

They certainly had some great prizes for their raffle!

1st prize: a brand new Ribble 872 bike

2nd prize: a ‘Domestique for a Day’ – Ollie Bridgewood, presenter on the GCN (Global Cycling Network) Show

3rd prize: free entries into a choice of upcoming Sportive events

Wheels for All Kendal sessions include one with supported living adults, another with children from a local special school, as well as fortnightly Saturday drop-in sessions.

Chris says, “There is a real demand for our sessions and a clear need in this area. It was great to have Bikeability come in recently to see the sixth formers from our special school, and we are talking to the local Blind Society who are keen to have a session. The new Tomcat Dragon will be a great addition to our offering of adapted cycles and definitely a popular choice for many participants.”
