Meet Ian – a fabulous fundraiser!
At Wheels for All Halewood, we’re lucky to meet incredible people every day and none more so than Ian, one of the kindest and most fun-loving characters to visit our sessions at our Halewood Hub.
Ian has been a regular at Wheels for All for some time, attending with a local support service that, like us, relies on public support to continue its work. So, when Ian decided to mark his 60th birthday this year with a triathlon to raise money for a cause close to his heart, we were honoured to be part of his journey.
Ian has depended on and accessed support from Stephens House in Rainhill for over 40 years. Determined to give back, he set himself the challenge of completing a birthday triathlon - swimming, cycling, and walking - in support of the service that has given him so much.
Of course, we were more than happy to help Ian take on the cycling element of his challenge. With his usual energy, enthusiasm and smile, Ian not only completed the triathlon, but raised over £1,000 for Stephens House along the way. His achievement is a testament to his generosity and spirit and he has brought joy to everyone around him in the process.
Jon-Paul, Inclusive Cycling Co-ordinator at the Halewood Hub, said:
“Ian’s determination and kindness are an inspiration to us all. Watching him take on this challenge with such positivity and raising so much for a cause that’s close to his heart, was really special. He brings a smile to every session and reminds us why inclusive cycling is so important for building community and connection.”
Congratulations from everyone at Wheels for All, Ian. We’re proud to have played a part in your fantastic achievement!
