It was an honour to welcome Charlotte Nichols MP, MP for Warrington North to our Warrington Hub this morning.
We were able to speak to Charlotte about the importance and benefits of inclusive cycling, how we work within the community and some of the challenges we face as a charity.
As well as this Charlotte was able to meet our wonderful team of volunteers, speak to some of our amazing participants and even managed a full lap of the track on a tandem handcycle - which some of you will know is not easy!
Ben Whittingham, Regional Manager for Liverpool City Region and Cheshire, said “It was fantastic to welcome Charlotte to our Warrington Hub and share the impact of inclusive cycling first-hand. Our participants and volunteers create a really special atmosphere here, and having the chance to show that in action – especially with Charlotte giving the handcycle a go! – was a real highlight. We’re excited about the potential to work more closely with Charlotte and build stronger connections across the community.”
A sentiment that was echoed by Charlotte herself, who wrote on social media, “Cycling is such a joy and I’m so grateful for the work the volunteers do to make it accessible to more people. It was clear seeing the big smiles on people’s faces how much enjoyment it brings, and a number of the participants told me it’s their highlight of the week both for the cycling itself and the social connections they make. Thank you to everyone who makes it possible
