National accessible cycling charity, Wheels for All, will exhibit at the National Cycling Show in Birmingham’s NEC this weekend to bolster support and awareness of inclusive cycling. The charity promotes cycling for all through a range of community engagement programmes that give people the opportunity to cycle on a regular basis, through help, support and guidance.
Delighted by the opportunity to share the charity’s aims and achievements with a capacity crowd at the largest cycling event of its kind in the UK, the charity’s CEO, Ian Tierney, said: “Following the success of our exhibition at last year’s event in London, it’s fantastic to be returning to the National Cycle Show this year. We’ve come a long way in the last 30 years, transitioning from a project-based initiative into a national network of centres, inspiring a love of cycling to as many people as possible.
“Through our ‘Wheels for All’ hub at the show, we’ll share our vision to increase provision across the country so that more people from more places have the same opportunity have the same opportunity to benefit from our programmes.”
Hosting over 130 exhibitors and attracting around 20,000 delegates, the National Cycling Show is an event for all cycling fans, bringing together brands, interactive features, and world-class speakers in an inclusive environment. Wheels for All can be found in Hall 12, where staff and supporters will be on hand to explain more about its range of programmes taking place across the country, and promote inclusive cycling and the vital role played by volunteers. Joining them in this area will be big brands including Jorvik Tricycles, Van Raam, Tomcat and Mountain Trike.
Paul Alcock, chair of trustees and Wheels for All, said: “We’re thrilled to have been invited back to the Cycle Show, to showcase our work to a national audience and promote the fact cycling can be inclusive. Wheels for All connects volunteers with disabled people and disability services, giving individuals the chance to be active. It’s critical to use events like these as a platform to represent and attract as diverse an audience as possible, and reflect the growing demand for cycling and physical activity from all corners of our communities. We’re looking forward to promoting our services to people with differing needs who are passionate about cycling, whilst hopefully attracting more volunteers to support our growing network.”
