Matthew Wing, Surrey & Marlow Wheels for All.
It’s not every day that you get an email telling you that you have a sizeable donation coming your way however, Marlow Riders seem to be making a habit of raising fantastic sums of money to support local causes, including their local Wheels for All project.
The Red Kite Sportive is a very successful & well-run annual event and ranks highly in the league tables for sportives in the South East, and is often oversubscribed. It’s run by the very dedicated group of club members & has raised over £50,000 for charity since it started some 7 years ago.
In the last few weeks, the club have announced that last year’s Red Kite ride raised £13,000 and the club members have very generously decided to donate this to the Marlow Wheels for All project.
This is the third sizeable donation made by the club in the last three years & has meant that we have been able to buy more adapted cycles and also buy a large storage container that has recently been delivered to the Little Marlow Athletics track, the new home for Marlow WFA.
We are exceedingly grateful for Marlow Riders’ support of our indispensable Wheels for All project.
