Kickstarting Wheels for All - a new model of delivery

These challenging times have given us the opportunity to spend more time with less children, focusing on training and enabling disabled children to complete journeys with their families!

We’ve been very fortunate to have support from staff, volunteers and partners to put in place a Wheels for All service for the children & families we support in Surrey.

The outcome being that families are enjoying activity together & exploring new places to cycle. This will be the new model for many Wheels for All centres! Equipping people to cycle further & choose to cycle freely on their terms!

We have been able to deliver Wheels for All sessions for one family at a time at our Epsom Wheels for All centre, delivering a covid induction, delivering an assessment and cycling together as a group; on the return we then clean the cycles ready for the next group.

We would be happy to tell you in more detail how we are doing this innovative work & how it can support disabled children & families in other regions. Please get in touch ian.tierney@cycling.org.uk or 07709140910
