Meet the children from Mayflower Primary School!

Posted:

We were absolutely delighted to welcome a group of children from Mayflower to a recent inclusive cycling session delivered by our Wheels for All Tendring Hub. Moments like these are exactly why Wheels for All exists - to create safe, supportive spaces where disabled children and young people can experience the freedom, fun and confidence that cycling brings.

From the very start of their session, the children embraced the experience with huge enthusiasm. It was a joy to see faces light up as they explored the adapted cycles, many for the very first time. The session wasn’t just about physical activity; it became a powerful opportunity for learning, growth and connection.

Throughout the session, we saw children developing communication skills as they confidently engaged with our team and supporting adults. Their independence blossomed as they navigated the cycling track at their own pace, making choices and building self-belief. Perhaps most inspiring was the resilience on display — children rising to new challenges, showing determination and pride with every lap completed.

Hannah Johns, Regional Manager for the East at Wheels for All, said:

“It was truly heartwarming to see the impact this session had on the children from Mayflower. Inclusive cycling is about so much more than riding a bike, it’s about confidence and independence. Our Tendring team did a fantastic job of creating a welcoming environment where every child could succeed in their own way.”

We’re incredibly proud of the dedication and care shown by our Tendring team, whose commitment to inclusion helped make this experience so meaningful. Their support ensured every child felt welcome, valued and empowered to take part in a way that worked for them.

A huge thank you to Mayflower for joining us and trusting Wheels for All to be part of your children’s journey. We look forward to welcoming you back again and continuing to share the joy of inclusive cycling with more children and their families.
