Wheels for All was delighted to host the latest GM Commitment to Inclusion Network session at our Debdale Park Hub earlier this week. This in-person gathering brought together advocates and professionals working to make physical activity accessible for everyone across Greater Manchester.
The session provided a platform to showcase the vital work Wheels for All is doing in the field of inclusive cycling. Attendees had the chance to learn about how our programs are designed to ensure that individuals of all abilities can enjoy the freedom, independence, and joy that cycling brings. We shared our journey, best practices, and the challenges we face, all with the aim of creating a more inclusive physical activity landscape in our communities.
Of course, there was also time for our friends at the network to try out our fleet of adapted cycles!
The session offered a fantastic opportunity for network members to exchange ideas, learn from one another, and strengthen our collective effort to make physical activity accessible across the region. With a focus on collaboration, the GM Commitment to Inclusion Network continues to support organisations like ours, helping to ensure that no one is left behind when it comes to enjoying the benefits of an active lifestyle.
A huge thank you to all the network members who joined us from Manchester Bike Kitchen, Active Tameside, MCR Active, and GM Moving as well as Doreen from The Friends of Debdale Park and Ricky, Park Ranger for the Central Area Parks Team – Manchester City Council. We are incredibly proud to have played host to this event, and we look forward to continuing our work with the GM Commitment to Inclusion Network.
Stay tuned for more updates on our ongoing efforts to create inclusive cycling opportunities across the UK.
